Cynthia Rogers Parks earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was one of the earliest entrants in their graduate Creative Writing program and where she subsequently taught English, business writing, and ESL classes for fourteen years. Her short stories have been published in numerous university and regional literary publications and she is a former Redbook Fiction finalist.
Most recently, HOUSES won the Good Read novel competition sponsored by A Woman’s Write and was named a quarter-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.
Unlike the character in her novel, Cynthia has never sold real estate. But very much like Lacey Winters she confesses to having been somewhat house-obsessed from time to time and to having occasionally deep-ended on decorating. She really does tend to remember her past in terms of the house she was living in at the time and, as you might have guessed, she’s moved around a lot.
Cynthia currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband and two dogs who enthusiastically support her current obsession–to finally write the novels that have been languishing in her head.
